    • Carnival Marquees ,Takes the safety of our staff and clients whom hire a marquee very serious,please read and print the guidence , Terms and conditions on marquee hire Please be aware a marquee is only a temporary structure and most be treated like so , it is subject to the weather conditions , wind being the most serious.

    Carnival Marquee Hire erects its marquees to the line,but once it is left on site unattended by Carnival Marquees staff , the client is wholly reasonabile for it,and must be aware of leaving doors/sides open the elements . If the weather is extreme the marquee must not be used.

    The Hirer agrees to:- Inform the presence of drains, cables etc likely to be affected by tent pegs likely to be affected and repair or make good any damage to site generally Should Hirer wish to cancel the order, Carnival Marquees retains all reservation payments 20% of contract value. To pay cancellation charges 75% less than seven day notice – 50% less than twenty eight notice – 30% If twenty days or more notice – 5% if more than six months notice is given. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to supply a replacement as near as possible to the original order. The hire charges do not include attendance by firm’s staff except during the actual process or erecting & dismantling. Erecting of tables & chairs by Carnival Marquees staff is not part of Carnival Marquees contract hire Due to payments not being received on day of delivery Carnival Marquees has the right to remove its property The hirer shall provide a plan showing position in which tent age is to be erected or will have a representative on site for that purpose. In the absence of such a plan or representative the contractor having erected tents/equipment will be deemed to have completed contract. We do not accept reasonability for any damage to equipment placed in the marquee. Period of hire is meant to mean the period for which tent age or equipment is required to be ready for use. Delivery times are only approximate only & failure to deliver on the stated date or specific time shall, not render us liable for damage, lost time or any other consequential loss. We will not be held reasonable for any errors or omissions in quotation and contracts and reserve the right to correct errors or omissions at a later date. Tent coverage is only a temporary structure and must be treated like so, through storms etc vacate the marquee. Customer is wholly responsible whilst in customers possession Loss or Damage however caused to all or any part of hire equipment during the time of hire, in the event of any destruction, loss or damage during whilst in customers possession agrees to indemnify Carnival Marquees for full cost of repair, or replacement. Carnival Marquees Public Liability £2 million whilst on hire, covered for Fire, Aircraft, Expolsion & Riot only Please arrange for all risk insurance Marquee & Equipment either through own brokers We also expect Marquee interior to be left in a clean manner after use. Damage caused through neglect will be charged on replacement for new. It is important to Note the Following:- • All marquees are supplied in flame retardant pvc. • All Carnival structures are wholly white or have yellow constellations. • Where interlocking timber/plastic floor is quoted this will be laid to ground conditions. • Where once used carpet is specified we will make ever effort to supply the requested colour.However,we can only guarantee colour and condition if new carpet is ordered. • Where new resin backed carpet is specified this is fire resistant. Please note that that this carpet is made from recycled fibres and shade variations may occur. • Where marquees/structures are to be open fronted during the day, it is the hirer’s responsibility in the event of strong winds to ensure that the fronts are secured. • They should also be closed and secured at night and after the event.

    Full payment within seven days of delivery of marquee – additional equipment will be invoiced separately.

    Safety Checklist

    Check that regular and appropriate weather forcasts are available. Check that communication procedures are in place and available Check ground - soft/hard Check for underground hazards, utility supplies. Check overhead hazards. Anchorages are suitable for the purpose and are holding fast. Bracing wires on roof & walls are in place and adequately tensioned. All ropes including wire ropes are sound. Fabric is tensioned and not prone to ponding. Emergency exits are in place. Escape routes are clear. Exposed ropes and stakes adjacent to exits and entrances are marked. All locking pins and bolts are in place. All structural supports are sound without cracks. Eaves connection joints are securely locked home. No unrepaired tears in fabric are present. Flooring is evenly laid with no tripping points. Carpet and other floor covering is securely fixed. Roof lining does not drop significantly below eaves. All timber uprights and ridges are free from splits that are likely to cause failure. Walls are sucurely pegged/secured. Any pole tent has its full complement of side uprights, anchor pins, pulley blocks and guy ropes. The main uprights are independently guyed where appropriate. No excessive weights suspended from roof beams, ridges etc. Finally an all round visual check to satisfy that the tent is erected securely.

    HEALTH & SAFETY - click here to download checklist .pdf file During inclement weather all parties must be aware of the limitations for safe occupancy. We have the right to declare the tent unsafe for occupancy. Our structures have to conform to wind loading stipulations. Special care is taken to heat structures in winter to prevent snow loading. Materials used in construction must conform to current British Standards of fire retardancy. Ancillary Equipment Heaters – instructions to be left with clients on operation-fuelling precautions. Lighting –to be all 16amp/32amp external waterproof fittings. All furniture is made by reputable companies. Emergency lighting fitting – with lit green man fire exit – Velcro crash fire door. Linings are fire retardant. Reducing Risk When working with structures number of guidelines to reduce risk and help for smooth running. Work should be carried out in accordance with previously agreed plans –no last minute plans. Structures to have adequate exits. Structures maintained whilst in service. Structures should not be tampered with when erected- removing of pegs,.anchor points or exits. Removal of walls-can cause wind to enter marquee. Flooring systems-joints taped and secured carpets-boarding alls secured. Positive action regarding underground services. All protruding guy ropes securing pegs to be well indicated or well guarded. Dance floor to have leading edge with ramp. It is important to note the following:- • All marquees are supplied in flame retardant flexible pace. • All carnival structures are wholly white or yellow castellation. • Where interlocking plywood/plastic is used this will be laid to the ground conditions of the site. • Where once used carpet is specified we will make every effort to supply the requested colour.However,we can only guarantee colour and condition if new carpet is ordered. • Where resin backed carpet is specified this is fire resistant. Please note that this carpet is made from recycled fibres and shade and variations may occur. • Where marquees or structures are to be opening fronted during the day, it is the hirer’s responsibility in the event of strong winds to ensure that the front’s are secured. They should also be closed and secured at night and after the event.
